This 8 days Gorilla and wildlife safari takes you to have the ultimate safari where you will engage in gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest, have an encounter with chimpanzees at Kibale National Park and you will be to see other primate species like grey checked mangabeys, red-tailed monkeys and many more. Enjoy amazing wildlife sightings in Queen Elizabeth, have a boat cruise at Kazinga channel, and enjoy nature walks at Lake Mburo National Park.
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
On the first day of your safari, a driver / guide from Fairend will pick you up from Kampala or Entebbe and you embark on a journey to Lake Mburo National Park which is located on Mbarara – Masaka high way.The journey to Lake Mburo National Park is full of beautiful landscapes, plantations, and farms. You will have a stop over at kayabwe at the equator where you will take photos and continue with your journey to Igongo cultural center where you will have lunch before proceeding to Lake Mburo national park where you will check in your hotel, relax and have an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After having an early morning breakfast, you will have a game drive where you will be able to see wildlife species up close in their natural habitat. After the game drive you will embark on a journey to Bwindi forest, the journey will give you amazing views of Uganda’s countryside. You will be able to see hills, plantations, cattle, and other amazing features. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and have an overnight stay.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
After having an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters where you will be given guidelines and assigned a gorilla family to trek. Trekking requires some level of fitness therefore a family located to you for trekking depends on your age and level of fitness. After briefing you will be accompanied by an experience guide who will help you allocate the gorillas, you will spend an hour observing them feed, play and groom each other. You will be able to see birds, insects and other animals while trekking. You will later return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On the fourth day of your safari, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will be able to have magnificent views of Crater lakes, Mountains like Rwenzori and other features. Upon on arrival in the park, you will have a small game drive as we head to the lodge where you will have lunch and a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. During the boat cruise you will be able to see animals like elephants, crocodiles, elephants and birds. Head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay
Day 5: Morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After morning breakfast, you will embark on a morning game drive on the savanna plains where you will have amazing encounters with the amazing wildlife species found in Queen Elizabeth National Park including lions, hyenas, leopards, buffalo, elephants, hippos, and plenty of elephants. You will later return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation and later do an evening game drive which gives you an opportunity to spot the wildlife missed on the previous game drive. Relax and enjoy the sunset over the mountain ranges.
Day 6: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After having breakfast you will check out of your hotel and head to Kibale National Park, you will first have a stop over in Fort portal town where you will visit the Toro palace, visit amabere ga mwiru , have lunch and proceed to Kibale, upon arrival you will check in your hotel, have dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters where you will be given guidelines to follow. Kibale forest is a 766 square kilometer forest located in western Uganda where you will be able to track chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will also be able to see other primates like red-tailed monkeys, black and white Columbus monkeys, and butterflies.
The guide will help you to locate the chimps and you will witness how they live their day-to-day lives as they feed, play, and communicate with one another. After chimp tracking, you will have your lunch and then proceed to Bigodi Wetland for a nature walk. After a nature walk transfer back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 8: Transfer to Kampala
On the last day of your safari, you will have breakfast and later transfer back to Kampala or Entebbe Airport and that will mark the end of your safari.
