3 Days of gorilla trekking

The 3 days gorilla trekking safari takes you to have a unique experience at Volcanoes National Park which is the only Park to see gorillas in Rwanda. You will have an amazing experience as you have a close encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas. You will also have a chance to see other primates like black and white monkeys, golden monkeys and many more.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On the first day of your safari, a guide/driver from Fairend will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to Volcanoes National Park. The journey will be rewarding with beautiful sceneries of the rolling hills and other features you might see. Upon arrival, you will check in at your hotel, refresh, and relax.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

On the second day of your safari, you will have breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by the head ranger/guide about the guidelines to follow. You will then be assigned to one habituated gorilla family that you will trek. You will later start trekking as you move into the forested slopes filled with bamboo trees and bushes. After sighting the gorillas which may take less an hour to 7 hours, you will spend only one hour in their presence. You will also be able to see other primates, birds, plants, and butterflies during the trek. After trekking you will meet up with your driver and return to the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali / Airport

On the last day of your safari, you will have breakfast and then transfer back to the airport or any location of your choice in Kigali city depending on your schedule. That marks the end of the 3-day gorilla trekking safari.
