Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

On this first day of your safari, your safari guide will pick you from the Airport or hotel and you embark on an 8 to 9 hour journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Your professional guide will do brief stops for lunch, photos and short breaks along the way and you will arrive in the evening check in your hotel, take dinner and have an overnight stay.

DAY 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park

Have an early morning breakfast and go to the Park head offices for briefing before going in the forest for gorilla trekking. This activity can take 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on movements of gorillas on a given time.  The guide assigned to you will help you locate the gorillas, after finding them you will spend an hour seeing the way they live their lives in their natural habitat. You may take photos but remember to have your flash off. After the trek transfer back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

DAY 3:  Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast embark on the journey to Kibale National Park which is the primate capital. This journey gives you the beautiful scenes of Uganda’s country side, your guide or might pass via Queen Elizabeth National Park or Ibanda district. Both roads guarantee some of the most beautiful scenery Uganda has to offer. Upon arrival check in your hotel.

DAY 4: Chimpanzee trekking and nature walk

On the fourth day of your safari, you will have breakfast early and head to the park headquarters for briefing.  You will be assigned a guide who will lead you into the deep forest where you will find the chimpanzees. Trekking chimpanzees needs one to be swift and physical fit since they move from place to place.

 Chimpanzees live in smalls communities of between 50-130 chimpanzees but usually divide themselves during the day to reduce competition on food and  regroup in the evening to build their homes for the night. Again, you will be allowed to spend an hour with the chimps once you spot them.

 After trekking go for lunch and after go for a nature walk at Bigodi wetland and you may visit Bigodi Village where you will see coffee plantations. You will be walked through the coffee production from planting to harvesting and open fire roasting to that finest cup of coffee.

DAY 5: To Entebbe Airport or Kampala

After breakfast you will check out your hotel and start your journey back to Entebbe Airport or Kampala depending on your schedule.
