15 Days Uganda Safari

The 15-day safari takes you to have the ultimate gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest, see rhinos that can only be seen at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, relax on a boat cruise in Murchison Falls National Park, and have an encounter with chimpanzees at Kibale National Park.

You will have an opportunity to see a number of wildlife species like primates, birds, and many more species during game drives and nature walks. Enjoy amazing wildlife sightings in Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo national parks. Get your adrenaline pumping with white water rafting or bungee jumping on the Nile River and get to enjoy Kampala city.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Kampala- Uganda

On the first day of your safari, a guide or driver will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala to relax and have an overnight stay.

Day 2:  Transfer to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After an early morning breakfast, you will be picked up by your guide from the hotel and depart for Murchison Falls National Park. You will have an early morning breakfast and depart for Murchison Falls National Park.  You will have a stopover for lunch and head to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will be able to trek Rhinos, this is the only place in Uganda where you can trek White rhinos. Rhino trekking is done on foot and you will be able to see birds, and insects as you trek.

After this activity you shall proceed to Murchison Falls National Park and visit the Murchison Falls which are the most powerful falls in the whole world, you will be able to observe how the Nile is forced through a 7-meter gorge. Take photos, videos and we later head to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay

Day 3: Game drives and boat cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

 After an early morning breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park which is located at the northern end of Albertine Rift Valley and is the largest park in Uganda. You will be able to witness the wildlife species in their natural habitats. Some of the animals you will encounter are buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, antelopes and so much more. This game drive lasts up to 5 hours after which you will return to the lodge for an early lunch.

After having lunch you will go for a boat cruise which takes you to the bottom of Murchison Falls, during the cruise you will be able to relax and see some wildlife species on the banks of the river as they feed. Some of the species seen are hippos, crocodiles, elephants and birds among others. At the bottom of the falls you will be rewarded by the magnificent sights of the Murchison falls and hike to the top of the falls. Your tour guide will pick you from the top and transfer you to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

After breakfast check out of the hotel and transfer to Kibale National Park which is the primate capital of the world. It is home to 1,500 chimpanzees and other primates like white and black colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and more. You will have gorgeous views of the Rift Valley, Lake Albert, and the sugar cane plantations in Kyenjojo on your journey. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel and relax

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters where you will be given guidelines to follow. Kibale forest is a 766 square kilometer forest located in western Uganda where you will be able to track chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will also be able to see other primates like red-tailed monkeys, black and white Columbus monkeys, and butterflies. The guide will help you to locate the chimps and you will witness how they live their day-to-day lives as they feed, play, and communicate with one another.  After chimp tracking, you will have you lunch and then proceed to Bigodi wetland for a nature walk. After a nature walk transfer back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day six takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will be able to have magnificent views of Crater lakes, Mountains like Rwenzori, and other features.  Upon on arrival in the park, you will have a small game drive as we head to the lodge where you will have lunch and a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. During the boat cruise, you will be able to see animals like elephants, crocodiles, elephants and birds. Head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park

After morning breakfast, we will embark on a morning game drive on the savanna plains where you will have amazing encounters with the amazing wildlife species found in Queen Elizabeth National Park including lions, hyenas, leopards, buffalo, elephants, hippos, and plenty of elephants.  You will later return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation and later do an evening game drive which gives you an opportunity to spot the wildlife missed on the previous game drive. Relax and enjoy the sunset over the mountain ranges.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After an early morning breakfast, check out and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest. This journey takes us through the Kigezi highlands with astonishing scenery of terraced hills. Upon arrival head to the lodge for lunch and relax.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

 Gorilla trekking is done at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest which is home to more than half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the whole world. Bwindi is located in southwestern Uganda in the Virunga ranges, there are 21 habituated gorilla families that can be trekked by visitors.  Trekking begins with a briefing at the park headquarters where you will be given guidelines to follow, you will be accompanied by an experienced guide who will help you allocate the gorillas, and you will spend an hour observing them feed, play, and groom each other.  You will be able to see birds, insects, and other animals while trekking. You will later return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 10: Batwa Cultural Tour and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After having breakfast you will proceed to have a cultural encounter where you’ll embark on a profound exploration of the vibrant cultural legacy of the Batwa people who are indigenous inhabitants of this region.

You will get to experience the heritage, customs, and way of life of the Batwa people who live in the deep forests. You will get to visit the Garama cave which is nestled in the heart of the forest. It serves as a place of worship and refuge for generations, as you explore the cave you will gain a deeper understanding of the spiritual and cultural aspects of the Batwa people. After the cultural encounter, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi where you will have an overnight stay.

Day 11: Adventurous activities at Lake Bunyonyi

After having breakfast you will enjoy some of the adventurous activities done on Lake Bunyonyi like canoeing, swimming in the Lake, boat cruising, zip lining, high lopes, and many more depending on what you choose to do.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

The journey to Lake Mburo National Park is full of beautiful landscapes, plantations, and farms. You will have an opportunity to visit a cultural Museum which exhibits the life of the native people of the area. Enjoy a relaxing meal at Igongo Cultural Center before proceeding to Lake Mburo National Park where you will check in your hotel, relax, and have an overnight stay.  

Day 13: Morning nature walk and transfer to Kampala.

After breakfast you will have a morning nature walk before heading back to Kampala, you will have close encounters with a wide range of wild species like impalaa, zebras, giraffes, warthogs and topi among others. This nature walk is led by an armed ranger who guides you to the part of the park where to find these species. This safari activity lasts up to 3 hours after which you will embark on the journey back to the city. You will have a stopover at the equator where you will have lunch as well as take photos at the equator monument.  Upon arrival in Kampala, check in your hotel for relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 14: Kampala City tour

After having breakfast a driver/guide will pick you up for a city tour. You will visit places like Owino market, Kabaka’s palace, and Gadaffi mosque and you will visit a craft market at Budanga Road. In the late afternoon, you will transfer to Jinja where you will have an overnight stay.

Day 15: Source of the Nile

On the last day of your Safari, after having breakfast you will transfer for white water rafting or bungee jumping depending on what you choose to do, after taking part in the activity you will transfer back to Kampala with a stopover at Mabira forest. You will be dropped off at the airport or a hotel after the safari.
