8 Days of wildlife and Adventure

This 8-day safari takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kibale National Park, and Jinja city. You will be able to have amazing encounters with chimpanzees which are our closest cousins since they share 98.7% DNA with humans. You will also have a game drive, and boat cruise while enjoying sightseeing of crater lakes and ranges of Mount Rwenzori which has the third highest peak in Africa. You will end your safari by having adventurous activities in Jinja.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park

One the first day of your safari, a guide or driver will pick you up from Entebbe Airport or hotel and start on 4 to 5 hours’ journey to Kibale National Park. You will have a stopover in Fort Portal town where you will have lunch. You will visit places like Tooro Kingdom and Amabere ga nyina mwiru’ caves. You will then transfer to your lodge check in, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking experience

After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters where you will be given guidelines to follow. Kibale Forest is a 766 square kilometer forest where you will be able to track chimpanzees on foot. You will also be able to see other primates like red-tailed monkeys, black and white Columbus monkeys, and butterflies. The guide will help you to locate the chimps and you will witness how they live their day-to-day lives as they feed, play, and communicate with one another. After chimp tracking, you will have your lunch and then proceed to Bigodi Wetland for a nature walk. After a nature walk transfer back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day three takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will be able to have magnificent views of Crater lakes, Mountains like Rwenzori, and other features.  Upon on arrival in the park, you will have a small game drive as you head to the lodge where you will have lunch and a nature walk where you will be able to see amazing features that can only be found in this park.

Day 4: Morning game drive and boat cruise

After morning breakfast, you will embark on a morning game drive on the savanna plains where you will have amazing encounters with the amazing wildlife species found in Queen Elizabeth National Park including lions, hyenas, leopards, buffalo, elephants, hippos, and plenty of elephants.  You will later return to the lodge for lunch and after lunch, you will go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel where you will be able to see birds, Lakes, and ranges of the Rwenzori Mountains. After the boat cruise you will transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Kampala

On the last day of your safari, you will wake up and have breakfast. You will then check out of the hotel and embark on the journey back to Kampala, upon arrival you will check into your hotel for rest.

Day 6: Kampala City tour and transfer to Jinja

After having breakfast a driver / guide will pick you up for a city tour. You will visit places like Owino market, Kabaka’s palace, Gadaffi mosque and you will visit a craft market at Budanga road. In the late afternoon you will transfer to Jinja where you will have an overnight stay.

Day 7: Adventure activities

After breakfast you will go for white water rafting where you will get a fun experience, you may also participate in other activities such as quad biking, bungee jumping, and horseback riding. After taking lunch in Jinja, you will go on a city tour where you will visit the king’s palace and learn about Busoga’s history, as well as craft markets where they sell art and craft items, among other things. You will later return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Kampala

On the final day of your trip, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to Kampala, on the way you’ll stop at Sezibwa Falls, where you’ll get great views of the waterfalls, beautiful scenery, and bird species, among other things. You will be dropped off at your hotel or Entebbe Airport and that will mark the end of your safari.
